There is someone very close to me that is having a baby in the near future…actually a couple of people! With that in mind I decided to do a post on pregnancy friendly skincare brands as well as skincare brands for sensitive skin! This is also for those who like the idea of using less harmful natural products!!!!
All of these brands have rave reviews and while I have not tried the mom ones before, I have tried Ren and Juice Beauty and I love those brands.
Bee Friendly https://www.beefriendlyskincare.com/ – This brand is not only organic and natural, but they also make sure their products and the way the go about making their products is not harmful to nature either. They use a lot of honey in their products (hence the name), and the reviews are fabulous!
Juice Beauty – https://www.juicebeauty.com (You can also get these products at Ulta) – These products are backed by celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Chrissy Teigan, they are natural and I know for a fact that they work because I actually use some of these products. They were created by a woman who, while experiencing hormonal changes while pregnant in her 40s, could not find the products that she was looking for that were natural and would help her skin. Give this brand a try!
Mio Skin Care (and Mama Mio) – https://www.mioskincare.com (you will see a Mama Mio tab at the top) This brand has regular natural skin care as well as a section especially designed for pregnant women that includes stretch mark creams, a bust and neck firmer, and even videos with fitness superstar Tracy Anderson! But it is their pregnancy facial products that should really be in the spotlight. They feature go-to anti-aging ingredients such as peptides and anti-oxidants, but they are totally pregnancy friendly! Check it out!
Belli Skin Care – This you can buy at Dermstore and Ulta as well http://www.belliskincare.com/ – Belli is a physician-formulated line with collections to use while pregnant, nursing, and even baby products. Every Belli product is allergy tested, and free of artificial dyes, phthalates and paraben preservatives. Their pregnancy acne products feature sulfur and tea tree oil to help fight blemishes, great options if your hormones have run amok.
Ren Skin Care (Also at Sephora) – https://www.renskincare.com/usa/ – REN uses only 100% plant and mineral derived actives and is free from skin-unfriendly synthetic ingredients! It also really works hard to create products that work and I can attest to the ones that I have used. The reviews are great and the products are reasonably priced which I like. Their Evercalm Regime Kit would be a great present for a new mom, as would a lot of their sets. Something to keep in mind!
Board and Batten – www.Farmtoskin.com – These products are farm to bottle made and smell amazing! I love the simple bottling as well! Definitely a brand to try and one that will look nice on your vanity as well!
Indie Lee – http://indielee.com/ – (also at Dermstore.com) This brand is interesting! After conquering a brain tumor that pointed to environmental toxins as the culprit, Indie Lee decided to create all natural products to really enhance your body and not harm it! There is even reading material on the website explaining good ingredients and bad ingredients, as well as a blog to keep you in the know about natural products! This brand is a little pricier than some of the others, but the bottling is so cute and the reviews are fabulous! I am going to have to buy something from this brand.
Manuka Doctor – http://www.manukadoctor.com/ – Kourtney Kardashian is the brand ambassador for this brand. The brand uses benefits of Certified Manuka Honey for authentic skin care solutions that work with the skin to combat issues from blemish control to anti-aging. They make all their products with the assumption that the woman could be pregnant and breast feeding while using. I know the benefits of Manuka honey are amazing and have been drinking the honey in my tea for over a year now…maybe I should start slathering some of it on my face ha ha. However they can’t claim that the products are 100% natural, but strive to ensure that they are as close as possible without compromising on product efficacy and making sure they are safe for pregnant women.
Pretty Mommies – https://prettymommies.com/ – This is one of the highest rated skin care lines for pregnant women! They products are designed to be safe and very effective and to help with anti-aging in the process. They have great skin clearing products too! They don’t have many products, but you don’t need many products if the ones you have work really well!
Nine Naturals https://ninenaturals.com/ – This brand makes great natural haircaire products as well as skin care products. Their true multi tasker, Pai’s BioRegenerate is best used at night. Add a few drops to your facial moisturiser or apply to scars and stretchmarks and let it work its magic. You’ll wake up reaping the benefits of this fabulous product, before, during and after pregnancy.
Cultivator Dry Shampoo (Brand formerly known as SkinnySkinny) http://www.shopcultivar.com This company makes many great health friendly products, but their dry shampoo is what put them on the map!
Conditioner: Rahua Conditioner, $34, rahua.com – This organic hair and skin care brand is based around a restorative oil from the Amazon rain forest called rahua (pronounced ra-wa). The conditioner leaves hair smooth yet bouncy, plus it’s actually a two-in-one, moonlighting as a medium-hold styling cream!
Redness Fix: VMV Hypoallergenics Red Better Flare-Up Balm, $50, vmvhypoallergenics.com – A gentler alternative to steroid creams (like hydrocortisone), this will become your go-to fix for all kinds of upset-skin issues: eczema, rosacea, inflamed pimples, etc. Check out this brand’s hypoallergenic facial moisturizers for super-sensitive skin too.
Body Wash: Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Baby-Mild Castile Liquid Soap, $9, drbronner.com – This coconut-oil-based cleanser has been around for decades, but it still might be the most perfect pick for use during pregnancy. Although there are scented versions, the unscented is ideal if you find yourself irked by strong scents right now. It also contains twice the amount of olive oil as the scented versions, making it even more of a relief for dry skin!
Body Lotion: Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Body Cream, $15, drugstore.com – Finally, a body cream you can slather all over without worrying about what exactly is sinking into your skin. Not only is this one’s ingredients list practically worry-free, its signature sea buckthorn oil—along with shea butter and meadowfoam—gets your skin totally plump and glowing.
Acne Treatment: Mario Badescu Drying Cream, $17, mariobadescu.com – If you’re avoiding salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide while you’re pregnant, good luck buying a blemish cream, especially one that actually works! Using colloidal sulfur to dry up pimples. (Also at Dermstore
