Valentines Day Looks and Tips!

A lot of women don’t realize that most of what we do that is on trend (deep burgundy lipstick, etc.) is more of a woman thing that something men like.  If a man finds you attractive then he will still find you attractive while you try out all of the latest and greatest makeup and hair trends out there, but for this one day try a look that you know he will love.

First of all when women get comfortable in relationships, we tend to lose some of our femininity, so for Valentines day, just make sure you try and bring out that side more.  Think of the celebrities that men find to be attractive. I am sure that you have heard the term man repeller by now.  Made famous by Leandra Medine and her blog, she defines it as: she who outfits herself in a sartorially offensive mode that may result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls, shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs.

So not to be a man repeller this valentines day, you may want to try the following:

1 – Try and keep your makeup simple… I am NOT saying don’t really wear any…I’m saying stick with a look that is more simple and highlights your best features.  When a man says he doesn’t like it when women wear a lot of makeup, what they mean is, they don’t like being able to tell you are wearing a lot of makeup. Try and keep things softer and more sweet. Use a nude liner on your waterline on the bottom as well as a highlighter near your tear duct to really make your eyes seem open and big.  Or try a lighter brown on the bottom to keep it soft.  Keep the shadows more of a taupe/bronze/pinky color. (This first one looks like a lot of makeup but I did it to show you how you can make your eyes look bigger with a nude liner in the waterline.)

2- If you want to amp it up, you can do a red lip, but make sure you get a lipstick with good staying power!  You can also just do a fun winged liner!  Done right it just makes your eyes look bigger and you don’t seem so done up.

3. Make sure your hair looks soft and clean. You want your hair to look touchable.  This is not the time to try some crazy up do, etc. Just make sure it looks soft and clean and maybe do some big curls, or blow dry it out straight.  If you have natural curly hair play up your natural curls, but don’t overdo it on the gel or hairspray!

4. Make sure your skin is soft and even do a light fake tan to make you look healthier and a little more alive. Also make sure you put on blush so that you get that youthful glow!

5. Nails – Try and stick to either a neutral color, or a red or pink for this day.  Something feminine!

. Clothing – For this, simple is the best.  Focus on wearing something that makes your body look good, not what dress is the prettiest to you.  Men don’t really care about all the extra, just make sure you bring out the best you!
